Midi de la Méditerranée – FEMIP: Investing in the Southern Mediterranean: Challenges and Opportunities

At the second Midi de la Méditerranée, the MEDEA Institute and the European Movement Belgium had the pleasure to welcome Philippe de Fontaine Vive, Vice-President of the European Investment Bank.

The Facility for Euro-Mediterranean Investment and Partnership is the tool of intervention of the EIB in the Mediterranean region.
Active since 2002, it is now the main instrument of economic and financial cooperation between Europe and the Mediterranean. Philippe de Fontaine Vive shed light on the factor of change in the Mediterranean region, the challenges and the levers of action drawn up by the EIB to respond them. He then ended with an outline of the four projects launched by the EIB in the wake of the Paris summit on the Union for the Mediterranean. Questions from the audience came and enhanced this second Midi de la Méditerranée.
