Midi de la Méditerranée – The Mediterranean dilemma : The difficulties of stability in the Mediterranean

On Thursday, November 5, the Midis de la Méditerranée have been honored with the visit of Professor Guido de Marco, President Emeritus of the Republic of Malta. A high-profile public came to enjoy the extraordinaire international experience and the oratory skills of the Professor.

Addressing the topic of the dilemma raised by the stability of the Mediterranean region, and the importance it has for Europe, Prof. de Marco said on many occasions the role played by Malta as a mediator in conflicts in the Mare Nostrum, in particular the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Located at its the heart, the island is made of a rich culture coming from the mixture between European and Arab civilizations, and has therefore a mission to bridge the two shores of the Mediterranean.
