According to the International Justice Project (IJP)’s latest rule-of-law index, Egypt has ranked last of all the Arab states.  In terms of government accountability, security and stability, government transparency and corruption, Egypt has progress to make.

During his meeting with Sergei Lavrov, Russian Foreign Minister, Avigdor Lieberman, Israel Foreign Minister refused to include Hamas in the peace process in Middle East. Besides, Lieberman expressed his pessimist opinion about indirect negotiations with Palestinians and thinks that “There is absolutely no chance of reaching a Palestinian state before the year 2012”.

In response to the raid on the fleet in May, Turkey has banned access to its airspace to an Israeli military aircraft. Turkey still requires an apology from Israel and an international investigation. If Israel refuses, the Turkish state could reduce its embassy in Tel Aviv and relations between the two countries could deteriorate.

Three youths were arrested in Lebanon for expressing their opinions about the Lebanese President, on Facebook. Qualified as defamation, their « crime » is punishable by the Court. This case brings out issues related to state intervention on the Internet.
